FACTORS RELATED TO THE USING OF THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SYSTEM IN THE EMERGENCY AND CRITICALLY ILL PATIENT PATIENTS IN FANG HOSPITAL

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Background Emergency Illness is a sick incident which suddenly occurs. The properly and fast helping or efficiency pre-hospital care at the scene can reduce the death rate and complications both in short term and long term. The statistic of the Emergency Medical Service using -1669 at Fang hospital was quite below threshold.

ObjectiveS To study the using rate of Emergency Medical Service EMS of the emergency patients and critically ill patients in Fang hospital and to study the related factor to the Emergency Medical System of the emergency patients and the critically ill patients in Fang Hospital

Methods The Analytical Cross-Sectional Research used a questionnaire survey which has been passed the validity inspection from the reliability testing experts by Cronbach’s Coefficient and Alpha method using. The result was 0.66. The data collecting done by giving questionnaires  to the sample group of the patients at the emergency room at Fang hospital during   November 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018 then analyzed  the data by using Descriptive statistics which comprised of Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation and Inferential statistics which is Chi-Square.

Results Finding, that the sample who used the Emergency Medical System service only 38.8 %. The significant factors related to the Emergency Medical were perception of symptoms (p=0.017)  sickness (p=0.003)  illness experiences (p=0.000)  obstacle awareness (p= 0.000).The other variables such as gender, age, educational background, income, occupation, car or motorcycle ownership, place of residence and their attitude in the Emergency Medical System were not related.

ConclusionS and DiscussionS Emergency Medical System service using rate of the emergency patients and critical ill patients was low. The information from this research can be publicized hurriedly to the emergency patients and critical patients in all processes starting from the perception symptoms step so that they can understand the importance of the Emergency Medical System service. Furthermore the service process needed to be clarified, compared strong points and weak points of EMS using and non-using. In addition advanced technologies using included online community creating for increasing performance and accessing to health services in community level between service providers and the people in Fang district.
