The Development of Video Lesson on Leopole’s Maneuvers for Nursing Students at Boromrajonani College of Nursing, Bangkok

This research and development aimed to: 1) develop video lesson on the topic of “Leopold maneuver” for 3rd-year nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Bangkok. 2) Compare knowledge related to “Leopold maneuver” between before and after studying the video and 3) study the satisfaction on learning the video lesson of the students. The purposive sampling was used to recruit a sample of 86 nursing students in the 3rd-year (room A) of Boromrajonani College of Nursing, Bangkok. The instruments of this study were 1) a video lesson on the topic of “Leopold maneuver” 2) knowledge test of “Leopold maneuver” video lesson and 3) questionnaire of satisfaction of students toward the video lesson. The data were statistically analyzed by using descriptive statistics, and paired t-test. The efficiency of the video lesson was a proportion of the mean score of knowledge toward “Leopold maneuver” during the test (E1) and at post-test (E2). The results of this study revealed that: 1) the efficiency of the video lesson on the topic of “Leopold’s maneuvers”was at 85.00/83.50. The mean score of knowledge toward “Leopold maneuver” of nursing students after studying the video lesson was higher than before studying with statistical significance at (p < .001), and satisfaction toward a video lesson on the topic of “Leopold’s maneuvers” (Mean= 4.36, S.D. =.57) was reported at high level (Mean= 4.66, S.D. =.57). Based on the findings, it could be concluded that a video lesson on the topic of “Leopold’s maneuvers” could increase knowledge and satisfaction of nursing students at Boromrajonani College of nursing, Bangkok. Therefore, the video lesson should be continuously distributed on a yearly basis and should be expanded to other groups of nursing students.
