Abstract

This research aimed to study nursing professional leadership management in Aged Care Facilities (ACF) during the coronavirus 2019 pandemic using the 4S emergency mobilization conceptual framework recommended by The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): space, staff, supplies and system in 3 phases: preparation, response, and recovery phase. Data were collected using online group discussion method. The sample consisted of 7 experts, who were purposively selected. The research tool consisted of a general information questionnaire and a structured interview. Data were analyzed using content analysis.

The results showed that the nurse managers in ACF applied leadership indicating vision, commitment to problem solving, clinical decision-making, directing, resource planning, training, public relations, communication, network collaboration, awareness of receiving information, and management of the pandemic. The management contained space management, staff, supplies, and systems in the 3 phases.
