การดูแลสุขภาพจิตผู้สูงอายุ: สำหรับเจ้าหน้าที่สาธารณสุข

ผู้สูงอายุ เป็นวัยที่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงทั้งทางด้านร่างกาย จิตใจ และสังคม ซึ่งการเปลี่ยนแปลงเหล่านี้จะส่งผลต่อภาพลักษณ์ ความรู้สึกมีคุณค่าในตัวเอง ความเชื่อมั่นในตนเอง และความภาคภูมิใจในชีวิต ถ้าผู้สูงอายุเหล่านี้ไม่สามารถปรับตัวให้เข้ากับสภาพการณ์ที่เปลี่ยนแปลงในชีวิตได้ ส่งผลให้ประสบปัญหาสุขภาพจิตหลายอย่างตามมา เช่น ความรู้สึกโดดเดี่ยว วิตกกังวล เครียด ซึมเศร้าและฆ่าตัวตาย เป็นต้น อีกทั้งการเจ็บป่วยด้วยโรคเรื้อรังยังเป็นปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อสุขภาพจิตผู้สูงอายุด้วยเช่นกัน ดังนั้นการดูแลสุขภาพจิตผู้สูงอายุจึงมีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการช่วยให้ผู้สูงอายุเข้าใจสภาวะอารมณ์ สังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไป ทำให้ผู้สูงอายุเผชิญปัญหาได้ดี สามารถยอมรับความเป็นจริง ปฏิบัติกิจกรรมที่มีคุณประโยชน์ต่อร่างกายและจิตใจอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ส่งผลให้ผู้สูงอายุมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีและใช้ชีวิตอยู่ในสังคมได้อย่างมีความสุข
