การดูแลเท้า: ปัญหาที่ไม่ควรมองข้ามของผู้สูงอายุโรคเบาหวานในชุมชน

การดูแลเท้าในผู้สูงอายุเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งผู้สูงอายุโรคเบาหวาน สาเหตุและปัจจัยหลักที่ทำให้เกิดแผลได้ง่ายจากพยาธิสภาพของโรคเบาหวานร่วมกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางด้านกายภาพและสรีระวิทยาหลายด้าน ดังนั้นการเกิดแผลที่เท้าในผู้สูงอายุโรคเบาหวานจึงมีความจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งเพื่อป้องกันภาวะแทรกซ้อนที่นำไปสู่การถูกตัดเท้า ซึ่งจะส่งผลกระทบทั้งด้านร่างกายและจิตใจ ทำให้คุณภาพชีวิตลดลง และเพิ่มภาระการดูแลของครอบครัว ปัจจุบันสถิติผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวานทั่วโลกเพิ่มมากขึ้นทุกปี และผู้ป่วยที่ถูกตัดเท้ามีแนวโน้มสูงขึ้นและพบในผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวานอายุตั้งแต่ 35 ปี การดูแลเท้าในผู้สูงอายุเหล่านี้จึงถือว่ามีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่ง บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อให้พยาบาลและผู้ที่สนใจ มีความรู้ความเข้าใจวิธีการดูแลเท้าผู้เป็นโรคเบาหวาน เนื้อหาในบทความอธิบายถึงสาเหตุและปัจจัยเสี่ยงที่ทำให้เกิดการแผลที่เท้า การตรวจประเมินความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดแผลที่เท้าและบทบาทของพยาบาลในฐานะเป็นผู้ดูแลโดยตรง เป็นผู้ให้ความรู้ คำปรึกษา คำแนะนำในการประเมินความเสี่ยง และการช่วยสอนทักษะการดูแลเท้าแก่ผู้สูงอายุ เป็นการส่งเสริมให้ผู้สูงอายุสามารถดูแลเท้าได้ด้วยตนเอง ไม่เกิดแผลที่เท้าและมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดี
