การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ (quantitative research) โดยใช้การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา (descriptive research) มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมเสี่ยงต่อการตั้งครรภ์ของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 คณะวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎนครปฐม โดยเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการรวบรวมข้อมูล คือ แบบสอบถาม (questionnaire) เก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในงานวิจัย คือ นักศึกษาเพศหญิงชั้นปีที่ 1 คณะวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎนครปฐม จำนวน 269 คน ซึ่งได้มาจากการสุ่มอย่างง่าย (simple random sampling) โดยการจับสลากจากรายชื่อนักศึกษา เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามได้ผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงตามเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 3 ท่าน และความเที่ยงด้วยวิธีหาค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคได้เท่ากับ .89 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยหาค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว (One-Way ANOVA) ผลการศึกษาพบว่า อาชีพของบิดามารดา รายได้ของนักศึกษาต่อวัน ฐานะทางเศรษฐกิจของครอบครัว การเข้าถึงสื่ออินเทอร์เน็ตที่นำเสนอภัยจากการมีเพศสัมพันธ์ ความเชื่อส่วนบุคคลเกี่ยวกับเรื่องเพศ มีความสัมพันธ์กับพฤติกรรมเสี่ยงต่อการตั้งครรภ์ของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 คณะวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏนครปฐม ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญ .05 จึงมีข้อเสนอแนะว่า ครอบครัว และสถาบันการศึกษามีบทบาทสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความเชื่อส่วนบุคคลให้แก่นักศึกษาเกี่ยวกับเรื่องเพศ ตลอดจนปลูกฝังการรับรู้สื่ออย่างมีวิจารณญาณในการเข้าถึงสื่ออินเทอร์เน็ตที่ก่อให้เกิดการมีเพศสัมพันธ์ก่อนวัยอันควรของนักศึกษา
