ประเทศไทยมีแผงลอยจำหน่ายอาหารจำนวนมากถึง 103,000 ร้านจากสถานที่จำหน่ายอาหารทั่วประเทศทั้งหมด 150,000 ร้าน (ข้อมูลปี 2560 จาก Euromonitor International) เนื่องจากการตั้งแผงลอยจำหน่ายอาหารนั้นแค่เพียงมีรถเข็นที่มีน้ำหนักเบา เคลื่อนย้ายสะดวก ทำเลที่ตั้งที่เหมาะสม เข้าถึงได้สะดวก ก็สามารถตั้งขายได้ และการที่แผงลอยจำหน่ายอาหารมีจำนวนมาก ทำให้เกิดปัญหาในเรื่องของการจัดการ ทั้งการจัดการด้านความสะอาด การจัดการน้ำเสีย และการจัดการอื่น ๆ จนอาจกลายเป็นปัญหาให้กับประเทศของเรา ดังนั้น การให้ความรู้กับพ่อค้าแม่ค้าได้ตระหนักถึงปัญหาต่าง ๆ ช่วยกันร่วมมือแก้ไขปัญหาต่าง ๆ เหล่านั้น รวมถึงมาตรการทางกฎหมายที่เข้มข้นเป็นสิ่งสำคัญ เพื่อให้แผงลอยจำหน่ายอาหารของประเทศไทยสร้างเสน่ห์ให้แก่ชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ ดังที่ได้รับการยอมรับและได้รับการยกย่องจากสื่อต่างชาติให้ประเทศไทยเป็นที่แผงลอยจำหน่ายอาหารอันดับ 1 ของโลก
