Experience of Amphetamine Addicts After Community-Based Treatment and Rehabilitation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This qualitative research aimed to explore the experiences of amphetamine addicts after community-based treatment and rehabilitation. A phenomenological approach was employed. The participants were 12 individuals who had undergone community-based treatment and rehabilitation at Thung Yang Health Promoting Hospital, Laplae District, Uttaradit Province for at least one year. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and field notes, and analyzed using thematic analysis.
The findings revealed that participants experienced positive changes after rehabilitation in physical health, mental well-being, and social reintegration. Key factors contributing to successful recovery included family and community support, continuous follow-up, and expert counseling. Participants favored group counseling, community activities, and experience-sharing sessions.
Recommendations include developing comprehensive and continuous follow-up systems, establishing strong community support networks, and implementing additional training programs for those who have completed rehabilitation to enable them to help others and strengthen community resilience.
