DcNP model: A Model of Abdominal Drainage Care for Nursing Practice

Abstract
This quasi-experimental research, using a post-test-only design, aimed to study the effectiveness of the DcNP model. The sample group consisted of: 1) 13 nursing lecturers from Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Nakorn Lampang , who taught the Principles and Techniques of Nursing course during the experimental semester. 2) Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Nakorn Lampang which has completed the Principles and Techniques of Nursing course in the practical semester of the second year, with a total of 152 students. And Everyone meets the specified criteria The research tools used were: 1) a DcNP model developed using the design thinking process; 2) a personal information questionnaire; and 3) a DcNP model performance evaluation form. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics.
The results of the study on the effectiveness of the DcNP model showed that instructors and nursing students rated the DcNP model's overall effectiveness as very good and good. ( = 4.71, SD. = .15; =4.45, SD .27).
The study results show that the DcNP model can be used in teaching to develop students' skills in peritoneal drainage care.
