Abstract
The purpose of this research was 1) to develop a model for developing a risk management capabilities for patient safety of nursing students, Boromarajonani Chakrirat, 2) to study the effect of using a risk management capabilities development model for patient safety of nursing students, The research method divided into 3 phases: phase 1 To study the incidence of mistakes by students while practicing on the ward and studying perceptions , awareness of nursing students practicing on the ward and risk management capabilities. The sample consisted of 120 nursing students (years 3 and 4) and nursing instructors, group discussions of 28 nursing instructors and mentors. phase 2: To develop a model for developing a risk management capabilities for patient safety. The experiment was conducted by 23 3rd year nursing students to test confidence using Cronbach's alpha coefficient a value of 0.98. and phase 3: To study the effect of using a risk management capability development model. with 60 2 rd year nursing students. Data were analyzed using content analysis, mean, stand deviation, Paired t-test.
The results revealed that: 1. Model for developing risk management capabilities for patient safety of nursing students Boromarajonani Chakrirat College of Nursing consists of 4 steps according to the concept Risk management includes finding risks, risk analysis risk management risk management evaluation has 8 components named A-IO-KG-R
2. The effect of using a risk management capabilities development model for patient safety of nursing students Boromarajonani Chakrirat College of Nursing
2.1 The mean difference in risk management and patient safety awareness scores after receiving the model was higher than before receiving the model. statistically significant (p<.01)
2.2 Average of the difference in risk management capabilities scores. After receiving the model, the mean scores were higher than before receiving the model. statistically significant (p< .01)
