Alternative Information System for Stroke Seamless Care in Thailand

Abstract

          This research named “Alternative Information System for Stroke Seamless Care in Thailand” had two objectives as follows 1) to study situation analysis and problems with disease prevention, promotion, treatment and recovery system on Cerebral Vascular Disease (CVD) patients and 2) to study solutions to problems about CVD information in system with prevention, promotion, treatment and recovery in Ban-Tak district, Tak province. Qualitative method was used Qualitative research, review literature data and related in strokes and information In-depth interviews was used to collect data on health prevention, promotion, treatment and recovery including information from stroke patients and caregiver’s family. Returned information to patients, caregivers and health village volunteers was set up. The results showed that Ban-Tak district has limited resources to cure stroke patients such as CT Scan. The practical guideline for stroke patients is modified and should be continuing created. Referral system for stroke patients must be considered especially; hardware and software should be much more support in budget with more high technology when using computer to sending data back as well as using software to support staff’s work. Peopleware as staff should be supported on knowledge in system, high technology information and must continue support. Proactive work should be created in a clear task within suitable time consideration in multidisciplinary work. Data must be high considered carefully to create information to people and patients in all level to get strong support for self-care behaviors in terms of health prevention, promotion, treatment and recovery.
