A Development of Humanistic Leadership Model of Nurse Instructors in The Jurisdiction of Praboromarajchanok Institute Ministry of Public Health

Abstract

          The main purposes of this research was to study the result of a development of humanistic leadership model of nurse instructors in the jurisdiction of Praboromarajchanok Institute Ministry of Public Health. Subjects were nurse instructors (n=15) who have been teaching in Boromarajonani college of Nursing, Uttaradit. Purposive sampling was applied. Technical Action Research (TAR) was undertaken through four phases on this study 1) instruction of a humanistic leadership model 2) planning to apply a model 3) applying a model in 2 cycles 10 steps 4) developing a model. Instruments consisted of semi-structure interview, practical planning record, process of dialogue, practicing note, voice recorder and structure interview for assess humanized leadership in nurse instructors. Content analysis was performed on qualitative data and triangulation method for checking.


          Finding revealed that ;


1. There were four components of a development of humanistic leadership model of nurse instructors 1) anchoring and attitude 2) access and approach 3) action and arrangement 4) ambition and aim.


2. For planning to apply a model, processing was produced “A guide to developing humanistic Leadership of nurse instructors.


3. For applying on the model, nurse instructors to enhance improving of humanistic leadership when including these three dimensions of mind 1) understanding of human being 2) insight and compassion for others 3) continually developing of self- awareness by practice mindfulness.


4. The result of a development of l humanistic leadership model of nurse instructors in the jurisdiction of Praboromarajchanok Institute Ministry of Public Health consisted of four  elements 1) anchoring and attitude 2) access and approach 3) action and arrangement 4) effect and benefits.


          This study confirmed that nurse instructors in the jurisdiction of Praboromarajchanok Institute Ministry of Public Health can apply a model for develop a humanistic leadership and may use for teaching nursing students.
