Feasability of an Online Teaching and Learning Provision Using PIC Model with Master's Degree Students in a Social Distancing Context at Rajabhat University in Yala

Abstract

This survey research aimed to: 1) study the feasibility of online teaching and learning provision, 2) create an online teaching and learning provision model, 3) assess the feasibility of the PIC (Preparation of learners; Instructional management; Communication channels) model in a social distancing context with master's degree students in Educational Administration at Rajabhat University in Yala. Sample was 29 master's degree students. Research instrument was an open-ended questionnaire based on literature review. Content validity was confirmed by 3 experts. Index of content validity (IOC) was ranged from 0.67-1.00. Reliability of the tool was equal to .967. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics.

Results revealed as follows.

1. Feasibility of online teaching and learning provision, in terms of need, found that all participants (100 percent) needed it, while 75.86%of them were ready for online teaching and learning provision. In terms of preparation, readiness of learning materials was 100%, and management readiness was at 86.21%. Suitable communication channels found was two-way communication (82.76%).

2. The PIC Model was an online instructional model to support social distancing for Master students majoring in Educational Administration at Rajabhat University in Yala.

3. The feasibility of the PIC Model was suitable for online teaching and learning provision at the highest level. This study is only assess the feasibility of the PIC Model; it has not been used in actual situation, yet.
