Abstract

This research objectives were to study job performance, job characteristics andmoral quotient of perioperative nurses and to investigate the relationships betweenjob characteristics, moral quotient and job performance of perioperative nurses.The sample were 322 perioperative nurses in Governmental University Hospitals.Research instruments were job performance, job characteristics, and moral quotientof perioperative nurses questionnaires. All questionnaires were tested for contentvalidity by 5 experts. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the instruments were .95,.83, and .81, respectively. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standarddeviation, and Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient.Major findings were found that job performance and job characteristics ofperioperative nurses, Governmental University Hospitals were at the high level(X=3.89 and 4.16, respectively). Moral quotient was at good level (X=3.54).The relationships between job characteristics, moral quotient and job performancewas significantly positive (r=0.60 and 0.46, p< .05).The research suggested that the job characteristics and moral quotient shouldbe promoted to increase job performance of perioperative nurses.
