Abstract

Objectives: To study and compare personal data with self-esteem and creativity and to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and creativity.

Material and Methods: This was survey research. Data were collected using an online questionnaire among health science students at Naresuan University between October 2023 and October 2024. The instruments used were the Thai version of the Self-Esteem Assessment Form and the Creativity Assessment Form for Undergraduate Students. Descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to describe the sample characteristics. Inferential statistics, including Independent T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, and Pearson’s Correlation, were used for data analysis.

Results: The sample consisted of 401 participants, with the majority being female (81.8%), studying in the third year (29.4%), having a Grade Point Average (GPA) between 3.51–4.00 (36.4%), and having a monthly income between 4,001–6,000 baht (36.7%). Health science students at Naresuan University showed a high level of self-esteem (Mean = 29.97, S.D. = 4.78). Self-esteem was found to be significantly different when categorized by year of study and GPA. The students showed a moderate level of creativity (Mean = 76.93, S.D. = 14.90). Creativity was found to be significantly different when categorized by year of study and faculty. Furthermore, self-esteem and creativity were found to be statistically significantly correlated in a low positive direction.

Conclusion: Health science students at Naresuan University exhibited a high level of self-esteem and a moderate level of creativity. Self-esteem and creativity were found to have a positive correlation.
