A Study of Guidelines for Emergency Nursing and Accidents at Khao Tap Tao Thakradan Subdistrict, Srisawat District, Kanchanaburi Province

The purpose of this research was to gain 1) Study the emergency and disaster nursing model in the Khao Tap Tao and 2) Study the efficiency of the emergency and accident nursing model in the Khao Tap Tao. This research was Qualitative approach with hermeneutic phenomenology technique as framework. The key informants, by purposive selection on the criterion mentioned, they consisted of administrators, the main responsible persons of the agency and representatives from network partners, totaling 14 people. Data were collected using document review, focus group and in–depth interview and were analyzed based on Miles & Huberman. Quasi–experimental research was used. The simple sample sizes consisted of an emergency medical operation team of 120 people. Study period from December 2023 to February 2024. Data was collected using an attitude questionnaire, skill assessments and tests which reliability using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was .73, 0.75 and 0.70. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t–test.
The results showed that: 1) A model of emergency nursing and mass accidents in Khao Tap Tao consist of 3 phases: (1) Pre-incident phase is preparation and training, (2) Incident phase is situation management and coordination, and (3) post-incident phase is evaluation and development. 2) the efficiency of the emergency nursing model and incidents in the Khao Tap Tao area, the results showed that the sample group had significantly higher mean scores in knowledge, attitude, and skills after implementing the guidelines compared to before implementation (p<0.05). These emergency nursing guidelines can be applied in areas with similar geographical characteristics and can be utilized to develop mass casualty incident management policies at the local level.
