Effectiveness of Health Behavior Modification Program on Controlling Blood Sugar Levels in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Entering Diabetes Remission, Ko Kha District, Lampang Province

Abstract

         A one-group quasi-experimental measured the results pre and post-this time. The objective is to study the health behavior modification program's effectiveness in controlling blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes who have entered remission. The sample is Patients with type 2 diabetes who have HbA1C of less than 6.5% and used oral diabetes medication to receive treatment at the diabetes clinic in Ko Kha Hospital, Ko Kha District, Lampang Province, 29 people were selected as a specific sample. The tool consists of 2 parts: Part 1 is a health behavior change program that the researcher developed from a literature review. The second part is the data collection including a general information questionnaire, and the average comparison between health behavior, HbA1C, weight, waist circumference, and BMI. Data analysis using descriptive statistics and Paired t-tests.
        The result showed that the score of adjustment health behavior, HbA1C, weight, waist circumference, and body mass index before and after the experiment had statistically significant differences at p-value=0.001, 0.042, 0.001, 0.022, and 0.010 respectively.
         Therefore, health personnel should carefully monitor diabetic patients who enter remission in the long term. Continuously in the community through home visits or 3 Mor following up in the community and tracking such as complications or returning medicine.
