Development of Individual Development Plan to enhance learning skills in the 21st century among Nursing Students, Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Nakhon Lampang

This action research aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in enhancing 21st century learning skills among nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Nakhon Lampang, study for the academic year 2021.Three steps were used as follow; 1) to create individual development plan including relevant literature review by interviewing nursing students, advisors, and executives students 2) to examine instrumental reliability and validity using quasi-experimental methodology between control group and test group in order to improve IDP, and 3) to evaluate the developed IDP. Data analyzed and presented by using descriptive statistic (number, percentage) and inference statistic (Paired t-test).
The IDP processes included 1) the analysis of nursing student strengths and weaknesses, 2) a set of goals and methods for developing potential in terms of 21st century learning skills, 3) the supervision, monitoring, reflection, and evaluation of IDP implementation, and 4) self-assessment and advisory assessment in terms of 21st century learning skills. The results found that: 1) The mean scores of learning skills in the 21st century were higher than before the IDP with statistical significance of .05 2) The mean scores of learning skills in the 21st century when considering each aspect found that the average scores of learning and innovation skills, information, media and technology, and life skills and occupations were higher than before the IDP with statistical significance at .05. Therefore, the IDP is a kind of tool to enhance 21st century learning skills for nursing students and others.
