This qualitative research aimed to examine knowledge, understanding and needs for preventing stroke among at risk youth. Data were collected by semi-structured in-depth interviews from June to July 2022. Based on the Thai CV risk score, twenty participants of Tachang, Muang District, Chanthaburi had a moderate to high risk of stroke. A review of the relevant literature and a report on the stroke prevention operations of the subdistrict health promoting hospital with responsibility are presented. Using content analysis, the data were analyzed. There emerged three themes: Stroke is a disease of the elderly; lack of comprehension of the application of knowledge to prevent stroke; and Learning from others’ success. The findings provided important information relating to knowledge, understanding and needs of at-risk youth for stroke prevention. Understanding the knowledge and needs of young people in relation to stroke prevention can assist in it prevention.
