Development Caring Model to Promote Growth and Development of Preschool Children in Preschool Development Center at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Lampang

The action research aimed to study preschooler’s situations and develop a caring model to promote growth and development for children in the pre-school development center at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Lampang. Preschool children, families, the board of directors of the preschool development center, pediatric nursing instructors, caregivers, and also the Bachelor of Nursing students were all participants in this study. The research instruments were child development surveillance and promotion assessments, caregivers’ knowledge and skill assessments, and in-depth interviews. Data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, and content analysis.
The research results were as follows: 1) Regarding child growth situations and the development aspect, underweight children were at 35% compared to the standard. The heights did not meet the standard and were measured at 15%. Disproportionate shapes were 28.7%. There were 37 children with delayed development (46.25%), of those, 32.5% or 26 children had only one skill delayed development. 13.75% or 11 children had more than one skill delayed development. 2) The development of caring model for promoting growth and development of preschool children had four components that consist of 2.1) administrative policy 2.2) information management system 2.3) human resource development and 2.4) family participation.
Therefore, the Preschool Development Center should apply this model for creating the administrative policy on child health care, making a plan on the information management system with the association that relates to the effective preschool growth and developmental promotion.
