The content analysis using the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) and alpha Cronbach of .86 were used to examine validation and reliability of the instrument of this study.
Descriptive, regression, and discriminant statistical analysis were performed to assess the factors predicting English language anxiety and proficiency of the participants. The mean scores of English language anxiety among nursing students were at a moderate level (M=51.26, SD 10.33). The PBRI scores of nursing students were less than 51 scores at 86.40 percentage. Consequently, academic perception and supportive environment surrounding factors had been found as factors-related levels of anxiety and English skills of nursing students (multiple R = 3.69, F = 22.207, p = .000, df (1,277). These factors possibly predicted variation of English language anxiety at 13.60 percent with R2 = .136, and accurately discriminated groups of students’ English language proficiency at 18.40 percent.
