The Factors affecting Exercise Behavior among elderly in Lampangluang subdistrict, Lampang province

Abstract

        This purpose of this descriptive  study was to investigate the Factors affecting exercise behavioral practices of the lampangluang elderly.  The study samples comprised of 255 elderly. Data was collected through The questionnaire.  Frequency , percentage ,  Mean , chi-square , and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were used for data analysis

         Results of study showed that most of the samples were female most of them had the age of 60-69 years.  They had the right exercise behavioral practices and The Age were significantly related to exercise behavioral practices of the elderly. In terms  of predisposing Factor, it was found that age and sex of the samples were significantly relate to exercise behavioral practices of the elderly.  In terms of enabling factor,  It was found that Place of exercise, staff of trainer did not relate to exercise behavioral practices of the elderly.  In terms of Reinforcing factor,  it was found that receiving social , support from family member, friends, communities did not relate to execise  behavioral practices of the elderly.

            This purpose of this descriptive study was to investigate factors affecting exercise behavior of elderly in Lampangluang subdistrict, Lampang province. The study samples comprised of 255 elderly who were enrolled by Quota Sampling. The data was collected through the questionnaire.the statistic such as Frequency, percentage, Mean, chi-square, and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were used for data analysis

         The Results showed that most of the samples were female (61.60 %) and most of them (54.90%) had 60-69 years old. Moreover, overall, 78.40 percent had the right exercise behavior.  According to right knowledge and good attitude of elderly were 78.20 and 71.40 percent respectively. In terms of predisposing Factor, it was found that age, sex and underlying of the samples were significantly related to exercise behavior with P<.05. Furthermore, enabling factors such as place for exercise, trainer did not relate to exercise behavior of the elderly. Lastly, reinforcing factors for instance, receiving social and support from family member, friends, communities and health professional did not also relate to exercise behavior of the elderly.
