Factors Related to Clinical Risk Management of Professional Nurses at Saraphi Hospital in Chiang Mai Province

This descriptive research aims to study the factors related to clinical risk management among professional nurses, Saraphi hospital Chiang Mai Province. The population in this study were 40 professional nurses who work in the nursing group of Saraphi hospital District, Chiang Mai Province.The research tools composed of the demographic data questionnaire, the nurses participatory of administration and the risk management. All questionnaires were evaluated for content validity and Cronbach’s alpha with reliability of .95 and .96 respectively. The descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient were used for data analysis.
The results found that the overall participatory management of professional nurses was at a high level. (Mean = 3.81, S.D. =0.80), the overall clinical risk management of professional nurses was high (Mean = 3.88, S.D. =0.72). Age of professional nurses was not associated with clinical risk management. Moreover, the duration of working as a nursing profession and the participatory administration of registered nurses was at a high positive correlation with clinical risk management of professional nurses with statistically significant r=.876, p=.025 and r=.743, p<.001 respectively.
Therefore, nursing administrators should promote greater involvement of professional nurses in clinical risk management by knowledge management, enhancing for participation of risk management planning for more efficiency and make organization safety culture policy with increased in the focus on proactive risk finding and incidents report for planning to prevent the incidence and make the patient safety.
