Using Obstructive Structured Clinical Examination for Evaluating Nursing Care Skills, Analytical Thinking and Decision Making of Nursing Student, Boromarajonani College Nursing, Nakhon Lampang.

The purpose of this research aimed to study the result of using OSCE for evaluative nursing student competencies; clinical skills and analytical thinking, decision making in various clinical tasks. There were 165 second year nursing students. There were four research tools: 1) Four clinical scenarios 2) Nursing practice skills assessment 3) Analytical assessment Student decision and 4) Student Opinion Questionnaire for OSCE Exam. Data has been analyzed and presented as average and standard deviation. Additionally, content analysis.
The results were found, Nursing Care skills were good mean (µ=3.92, σ=0.179); the highest mean was Humanize health care and Caring behavior (µ=4.30, σ=0.17), the second was nursing care utilization (µ=3.87, σ=0.37), and the last was clinical skills (µ=3.60, σ=0.31). In additional the analytical thinking was good mean (µ=4.13, σ=0.55), the appropriate decision making to solving various problem was the highest mean (µ=4.24, σ=0.66)
Recommendations: Using of OSCEs are effective evaluation, so we should using OSCE in clinical practice of nursing course to promote developing nursing student competencies and self-assessment
