The Effective of Using Hot Water Bag to Reduce Pain in Patients after Curettage without Using Anesthesia.

Abstract

The pain of curettage cause discomfort and suffering to patients. Using hot water bag compresses to reduce pain. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of using a hot water bag to reduce pain in patients after curettage without using anesthesia. Methods: A quasiexperimental research. Purposive sampling patients who underwent curettage without anesthesia, aged 20 years and over 206 persons. Control group of 103 persons by the group on alternate days, odd couple. The control group will receive usual care and experimental group received compress the hot water bag by controlling the temperature at 45 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes to reduce pain after curettage. Using instruments of pain (Pain Scale Tool) and visual analogue scale analysis compared the average difference between the two samples. Data were analyzed using independent t-test. The results revealed that, immediately after curettage average pain scores of the experimental group and the control group did not differ (p> .05), but the term after that. Curettage to 30 minutes, the average pain score of the experimental group and the control group with significant difference (p <.05) in the group that received massage with a hot water bag lower than the average pain score was obtained usual care Recommendations: Nursing with a hot water bag after curettage can be used to relieve the pain.
