Development of control model for dengue hemorrhagic fever in Mae Hong Son Province

Dengue is a contagious mosquito-borne disease that can lead to severe shock, resulting in death. The purpose of this research was to develop a more effective control model for dengue hemorrhagic fever in Mae Hong Son Province. The research participants consisted of district health development committee, the team members of the Province Health System (PHS), rapid transit committee investigate the disease and 60 stakeholders are selected specifically. Collect quantitative data using questionnaire, data were analyzed using percentage, qualitative data utilizing lesson learn and content analysis. The study indicated that disease control staff and non-health network partners also carry out some activities in the prevention and diseases control are relatively low: 1) Provide knowledge about disease and prevention to the public. 2) Support the larvicidal sand granule for households and agencies. 3) Random sampling prevalence of mosquitoes larvae with invitations to participate in campaign activities. 4) Dissemination of the Act. related to disease control and the promotion of community organizing. 5) Joint disease control plan to eliminate mosquito breeding sites. In addition, dissemination of the Act. related to disease control and the use of agreements in villages, communities, network partners, local government organizations and the implementation of disease control activities are few and those who work in the sub-district area are trained in preventive and diseases control only 47-50%. Recommendations: should be control: 1) Performance planning and evaluation should be through the process of learning with the area, focusing on public relations and the use of appropriate agreements. 2) There are criteria for reporting disease control in practice. 3) There is a rehearsal report system from the province to the district and sub-district levels 4) Preparing a plan outbreak control, in particular the investigation and control of the disease in the index case. 5) Follow-up of patients with indications for inpatient treatment. The operation, especially in times of high risk for outbreaks, it is a form of dengue control that is effective, continuous and sustainable.
