The study of the nutritional status and factors influencing nutritional status of the preschool children (age 3 – 5 years) between public school and private school in place selection mueang district, amnatcharoen province
Abstract
The aims of this descriptive study was to study the nutritional status and factors influencing nutritional status of preschool children (age 3 – 5 years) between public school and private school in place selection Mueang district, Amnatcharoen province. The sample group consist of preschool children 156 people homeroom teacher and the person who take care of student’s food 38 people. The instrument in this study were scale and height measurement for nutritional status assessment. The questionnaire including dietary preschool behavior, the nutritional knowledge, the nutritional practical of parents, the preschool nutritional attitude of teacher and the person who take care of student’s food, the school nutritional policy and the school nutritional management. Which is with reliability as 0.78, 0.75, 0.92, 0.92, 0.75 and 0.84 respectively. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistic with Chi-Square test and Logistic Regression Analysis.
The result showed that the sample group’s preschool children of public school and private school were mostly preschool children had good consumer behaviors were 69.0% and 78.9% respectively. Preschool children had physical activity 15-30 minutes per each one were 49.3% and 54.9% respectively. The height of age nutritional status were mostly preschool children had normal nutritional status 71.8% and 53.5% respectively. The weight of height nutritional status were mostly preschool children had normal nutritional status 77.5% and 78.9% respectively. The height of age and The weight of height nutritional status in preschool student between pubic school and private school was not differentiate by the residence environmental factor (p =.012) and the nutritional practical of parents (p=.014) could predict the factor that related with the weight of height nutritional status by significantly in statistics p=.05 but could not predict. The height of age nutritional status so, we should encourage how to do the nutritional practical of parents in the correct way.
