A Study of Safety Management in Special Wards at Suranaree University of Technology Hospital, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Patient safety management is the heart of providing health services in hospitals and creating standards for patient service. This descriptive research aims to study safety management. In the special ward University Hospital in Nakhon Ratchasima Province The study included 45 nursing personnel in the ward. The instrument used in the study was a general information questionnaire. and a questionnaire on 6 aspects of safety management that the researcher developed according to the concept of the risk and safety management system of the Hospital Quality Development and Accreditation Institute. The validity of the content was checked. 0.98 Analyzed to find the confidence of the tool using the method of finding the alpha coefficient with a value equal to 0.95. Statistics used in the analysis.
The data is descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results of the study found that The sample group had an average age of 29 years, 60% were professional nurses, 15.56% were nursing assistants, 24.44% were patient support staff, had an average of 5.4 years of work experience, and 51.11% had received risk management training. Overall risk management is at a high level ( x̅ 4.27 , S.D.= 0.67 ) When categorizing safety management by aspect, it was found that all 6 areas had a high level of opinion scores. with the highest score being The aspect of risk finding was (x̅=4.37, S.D.= 0.61), followed by the aspect of setting strategies and risk prevention measures (x̅=4.32, S.D.= 0.60) Incident reporting system (x̅=4.26, S.D.= 0.70), root cause analysis (x̅=4.24, S.D.= 0.62), system effectiveness evaluation (x̅=4.22, S.D.= 0.61), and system coordination. related (x̅=4.19, S.D.= 0.8) respectively. From this study, information can be used to correctly and appropriately design safety management in the ward, resulting in effective safety management in the future.
