Abstract

This study of the effect of using the hamburger model and the sticky rice in the bamboo learning model in Anatomy and Physiology classes on the learning achievements of nursing students was a quasi-experimental research project with the purposes of: 1) comparing the students’ learning achievements before and after using the hamburger model; represent to cell structure and the sticky rice in the bamboo models; represent to myofibril in their anatomy and physiology classes, and 2) to determine the students’ satisfaction toward the use of the hamburger model and sticky rice in the bamboo model for enhancing their learning achievements in their anatomy and physiology classes. The participants in the sample group were 34 first-year nursing students at the Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Suratthani who were enrolled in the anatomy and physiology course in the 2022 academic which were selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments were the hamburger model and sticky rice in the bamboo model for enhancing learning achievements in anatomy and physiology classes.  The research tools used to collect data included their learning achievement tests and a satisfaction evaluation.  The item difficulty of the test was 0.4-0.6 (p = 0.4–0.6) and the discrimination of each items were 0.4 or over. The reliability of the test was determined using the Kuder-Richardson test and the KR-20 was 0.75. The study results were statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics, including: means, standard deviations, and t-tests.

The results of the research revealed that: 1) the learning achievements of the students after using the hamburger model and the sticky rice in the bamboo model were significantly higher than before, at the .001 level, and 2) the students’ satisfaction toward learning using the hamburger model and the sticky rice in the bamboo model for enhancing learning achievements in anatomy and physiology classes was at the highest level. Therefore, the hamburger model and the sticky rice in the bamboo learning model should be used for teaching and learning activitities as these learning/teaching models because they are easily found in everyday life, students can use these models to review learning content by themselves.
