Abstract

The purpose of this descriptive correlational study was to examine the quality of work life and job satisfaction of professional nurses in tertiary hospitals northeastern. The sample group was 365 professional nurses who has been working under the nursing group in tertiary hospital northeastern region has 8 locations, selection data it included : 1) being a professional nurse at all levels 2) working in nursing groups in tertiary hospital northeastern 3) Age of employment from 1 year or more 4) willing to cooperate in research, and exclusion data it included: 1) The person who submitted the resignation letter is in the process of waiting for the order 2) People who have maternity leave or further studied. The questionnaire was used collect data included 3 parts: 1) personal information 2) Quality of work life of professional nurses, which has already been verified by a qualified person and used to test (Try out) by using the Chronbach's Alpha Coefficient alpha coefficient. The questionnaire for the quality of work life of professional nurses was Cronbach's alpha coefficient of .92 and the satisfaction questionnaire. The work of professional nurses obtained Cronbach 's alpha coefficient of 89 by job satisfaction questionnaire of professional nurses. Data were analyzed by frequency, mean, percentage, standard deviation and statistics. Pearson’s correlation (Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient)

1) The quality of working life of professional nurses in tertiary hospital Northeastern were the moderate level (= 3.44, S.D = 1.01)

2) Job satisfaction of professional nurses in tertiary hospital Northeastern were the moderate level (= 3.57, S.D = 0.73)

3) The relationship between quality of work life and job satisfaction of professional nurses were at the high level, there was a positive correlation ( r = .792**, P < .01)
