Journal Policy

Journal of the Medical  Technologist Association of Thailand (J Med Tech Assoc Thai.) is an official publication of the Medical Technologist of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Soamsawali. 
Journal is a peer-reviewed journal that encourages ongoing routine-to-research in medical technology, original research, and education research among peers through the publication of original articles, review articles, case reports, short communication, letters to the editor, and editorials. All the articles published online are made publicly available in PDF files for free of charge.

Aim and Scope

  1. To serve as a medium for propagating advanced knowledge and research in medical technology and other related medical sciences.
  2. To promote research from routine, original research, and educational research for enhancing the profession of medical technology.
  3. To serve as a medium for interactions and exchanges of academic and professional experiences among medical technologists and other medical professions.

Criteria for Article Evaluation:

  1. Articles should be related to aspects of medical technology fields (including Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Parasitology, Clinical Virology, Clinical Hematology, Transfusion Medicine/Blood Bank, as well as Medical Technology Education and Community Medicine technologies), Medical Sciences, and other disciplines relevant to clinical laboratory practices.
  2. Articles must not have been previously published in other journals, nor be under consideration by any other journals.
  3. Articles must undergo double-blind peer review by at least three qualified experts, including members of the editorial board or external specialists, to ensure international standards and credibility.
  4. Once published in the Journal of Medical Technology, the articles become the intellectual property of the Journal.
  5. Opinions and viewpoints expressed in this journal are personal and the responsibility of the authors. They do not necessarily represent the views of the editorial board of the Journal of Medical Technology and the Thai Association of Medical Technologists under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali.
  6. Withdrawal of an article during the evaluation process without valid reasons may result in a 2-year suspension from submitting articles.
  7. For original articles, case reports, and short research articles, authors must attach a letter of approval from the Research Ethics Committee for Humans (Ethics Committee).
  8. Published articles may include questions for readers. The questions are in multiple-choice format, with 4 or 5 options, depending on the case. Readers who correctly answer all questions will receive points for Activity Type 4, Subtype 16: Self-study through pre-made media. Authors will also receive points for Activity Type 5, Subtype 25: Publication of technical medical research articles in academic journals from the Continuous Medical Education Center, Medical Technology Council.
