Factors associated with work-related accidental prevention behaviors of the waste collectors in Mueang Sisaket Municipality

Abstract

This cross-sectional analytical research aimed to study factors associated with work-related accidental prevention behaviors of the waste collectors in Mueang Sisaket Municipality. The 139 samples were collected by using a questionnaire between June to July 2021. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, and factors associated with accident prevention behavior were analyzed with multiple regression analysis by Stepwise Method. The study showed that factors associated with work-related accidental prevention behaviors of the waste collectors in Mueang Sisaket Municipality were perceived barriers to preventing work accidents and social support in preventing workplace accidents. These two predictors can explain the variance of factors associated with work-related accidental prevention behaviors of the waste collectors at 76.6 percent (R²=0.76, SE_est=2.299, F= 222.593, p<0.001) with a statistically significant at 0.05 level. Therefore, to change the accidental prevention behaviors of the waste collectors in Mueang Sisaket Municipality, it must pay attention to wear protective equipment and received a warning from co-workers. This will help waste collectors to reduce work-related accidents.
