Substance abuse is an important and urgent problem because it has spread to the youths, younger and younger. The sustainable prevention should be base on community participation. In this study, the participatory approach was applied for developing a learning process between the researchers and villagers. The objectives were to study the background of community and the youths as inputs, and to study the process and results of the community-based prevention of substance abuse in the youths.
