Cognitive behavior therapy in schizophrenic patient: 4 case reports

Lack of insght and non-compliance are major problems in the management of schizophrenic patients leading to relapses and eventually impairment in functioning. Cognitive behavior therapy has been developed recently to be used as an adjunctive treatment to medication in schizophrenia. Symptoms improvement, gaining insight and adherence to treatment have been supported by research results. The author reported 4 cases of schizophrenic patients treated with cognitive behavior therapy in terms of the process of therapy and various techniques used. The results were satisfactory. All patients recovered and gained insigh toward their illness, complied with medication and adhered to the treatment process.Downloads
