Sertraline-induced gynecomastia in elderly: a case report

Objective: To report the first case of sertraline-induced gynecomastia in Thailand.
Methods: A case of major depressive disorder with gynecomastia was reviewed.
Results: A 61-year-old man with major depressive disorder presented with gynecomastia after receiving sertraline 100 mg/d for five weeks. Gynecomastia was improved in one month after sertraline discontinuation and resolved after two months.
Conclusion: Sertraline-induced gynecomastia is a rare adverse effect but should be concerned and properly managed by sertraline cessation and investigation for other causes of gynecomastia.
