This workshop study was aimed to develop a model of the radio programmer network in mental health promotion and prevention in Chiangrai province, Thailand. The particular programmers were given knowledge about mental health self care, counseling skills, issues about referral system for some audience needed mental health services to psychiatric services providers nearby the community. Expecting the radio programs frequently educate about mental health context would eventually influenced in suicide prevention of the consumers. Twenty nine radio programmers were voluntary participated. Assessment administered by pre and post test difference scores. Frequency and percentage were analytic statistics for the training session. The scores showed participants better gained knowledge and skills. Follow up meeting including Suanprung psychiatric hospital tour were held one month after the first training. Focus groups disclosed that they developed more positive attitude to mental health related services and the patients as well , more often inserted some mental issues into their routine radio programs and made more properly referred the mental health needed audience to providers in Chiangrai.Downloads
