Factors Affecting Participation of Sugar Cane Farmers Use Correctly and Safety of Chemical Pesticide in Pako Sub-District, Kutchap District, Udon Thani Province

Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study Factors affecting participation of sugar cane farmers use correctly and safety of chemical pesticide in Pako Sub-district, Kutchap District, and UdonThani province. The study population was Sugar cane farmers in Pako Sub-district, Kutchap District, UdonThani province, 208 personnel were randomly selected as samples by Simple Random Sampling technique from 7,293 population. Data was collected by questionnaires for quantitative data and used in-depth interview guidelines for qualitative data from 208 key informants. The questionnaire was examined and verified by three experts for content validity with items objective congruence (IOC), all items ware more than 0.50, and reliability with Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.98. The data was collected between 13 ^th – 28 ^th February 2023. Data analysis was performed by descriptive and inferential statistics include Pearson correlation and stepwise multiple linear regression a significant level of 0.05

The study provides an overview of the factors that affect participation. And factors affecting participation of sugar cane farmers use correctly and safety of chemical pesticide in Pako Sub-district, Kutchap District, UdonThani province epidemic were at a high level with averages of 4.21 (S.D. = 0.46), and 4.29 (S.D. = 0.45) respectively. Overall the factors that affect participation have a high level of relationship (r = 0.820, p-value = < 0.001). Factors affecting participation, incentives, state mechanisms, developers, have effects and can participate in forecasting sugar cane farmers use correctly and safety of chemical pesticide in Pako Sub-district, Kutchap District, UdonThani province at 75.0  (R²Adj =0.747)
