Husband Supporting to Breastfeeding

This qualitative research aims to explore the husband support toward Breastfeeding in lactation of mothers. Collecting data using in-depth interview, tape record and non-participation observe with 10 mothers and 10 husbands who have experience in at least 6 months breastfeeding and live in KhonKaen province. Data collected during March to September 2016. Data were analyzed using content analysis.The research shows that the support of husband in supporting breastfeeding: 1) The Decision-making is the needs of husbands who want to breastfeeding, healthy children. 2) Financial support: Husband to work and earn money to feed their families. 3) Parenting: Instead of helping her wife carrying her child when her tired, exhausted from lactation. Husbands help with housework. Thailand is the social context of the extended family. Family members, including grandmothers help facilitate motherhood. This study gives insight to promote breastfeeding by her husband and family support. Breastfeeding can be continued.
