THE PARTICIPATION OF PEOPLE IN PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF DENGUE FEVER AT NIKHOM PHATTHANA SUB-DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION ORGANIZATION, NIKHOM PHATTHANA DISTRICT, RAYONG PROVINCE

This cross-sectional survey research was aimed at studying the participation of people in prevention and control of Dengue Fever and the factors related to people’s participation in prevention and control of dengue fever at Nikhom Phatthana Sub-District Administration Organization, Nikhom Phatthana District, Rayong Province. The sample group was totally 180 people representing households in the Nikhom Phatthana Sub-District Administration Organization area, Nikhom Phatthana District, Rayong Province.The questionnaires were used for data collection during 1st -14th November 2021. The data were then analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Chi – square analysis, and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation Coefficient statistics. The results of the study revealed that the participation of people in prevention and control of dengue fever was shown at high, moderate, and low levels accounted for 54.4%, 32.8%, and 12.8% respectively.The statistically significant (p-value < 0.05) related factors to people’s participation in prevention and control of dengue fever were gender, knowledge of dengue fever, and attitudes towards the prevention and control of dengue fever.
The results of this study suggested that the Ministry of Interior or the Ministry of Public Health should consider creating a policy to promote people’s participation in prevention and control of dengue fever covering all 4 areas, including promoting dengue fever knowledge and cultivating a positive attitude towards the prevention and control of dengue fever for the people on an ongoing basis in order to create a process of participation that will lead to the strength of the community.
