Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice According to 3A2S among Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Khon Kaen Students

Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study knowledge, attitude and practice according to 3A2S and investigate factors related to 3A2S in Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Khon Kaen students. Participants were 217 students selected by simple random sampling. Data were collected via self-administered questionnaires and analyze by descriptive statistics in terms of percentage, average, standard deviation, minimum, maximum and median, and also Chi Square test and Fisher’s Exact Test.

The results showed that most of participants were female (89.40%), aged lower than 21 years ( =20.65, S.D.=2.22), single (98.62%), Buddhist (98.62%), studying in community public health program (41.01%), year 2 students (33.18%), having monthly income 5,000 Baht and higher (41.94%), having experiences in public health works (1.38%) and illustrating a normal level of body mass index ( =21.48, S.D.=4.00) (65.44 %). Regarding knowledge, attitude and practice according to 3A2S of the participants, they were presented as at moderate levels (64.52%, 54.84% and 85.71% respectively). Moreover, there were statistically significant correlation between age and attitude towards 3A2S behavior (p-value=0.045,
p-value=0.025).

Students still have fair levels of their knowledge, attitude and practice in accordance with 3A2S. Therefore, the college should provide relevant activities or learning contents in the subjects related to 3A2S for students.
