Health Literacy of Pregnancy Protection for High School Students in Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

This research is a cross sectional descriptive research. The objective is to study the level of health knowledge in preventing pregnancy. And study factors that are related with healthy knowledge in prevention of pregnancy in junior high school students for school in Khon Kaen Province. Group examples for 196 people were collected by using questionnaires. passed content validation and test the confidence Using random sampling methods for analyze the data by statistics frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and analyze relationships by using Pearson correlation coefficient and Spearman statistics rank Correlation.

The results showed that The overall knowledge is low (Mean=1.54±1.0) low level knowledge and understanding (Mean=3.85±1.87),access to information and health services (Mean=2.90±0.62), communication to enhance expert (Mean=2.81±1.01), managing health conditions media (Mean=2.87±1.02) and information literacy and decision making (Mean=2.73±1.05),choosing the correct practice to prevent premature pregnancy(Mean=2.65±0.68) in the middle level Factors that are related to Health knowledge in pregnancy prevention, attitude about pregnancy prevention (r =0.221 p value=0.002) Awareness of their competencies in preventing pregnancy (r=0.446 p value <0.001) Media access to pregnancy prevention behaviors (r= 0.221 p value= 0.002) convenience in communication sex stories with parents / guardians(r = 0.495 p value<0.001) Perception of sexual risk behavior for friends (r=0.287 p value<0.001) Suggestions from this study should organize learning activities and create positive attitudes for students. Promoting parents to prevent pregnancy to understand students more and more. To support learning media literacy,to act correctly and develop life skills that are suitable for the surrounding environment.
