Abstract

This research is a cross-sectional descriptive research. The objective is to study the prevalence of skin whitening products and the factors related to the selection of skin whitening products of Sirindhorn College of Public Health students. Khon Kaen Province. A sample consisted of 220 students. Using random sampling method The questionnaire consists of 3 parts which are lead factors 1. gender, age, income, education level Course on housing income, status, and expenses for purchasing skin care products Reasons to use skin care products 2. Knowledge about skin care products 3. Attitudes about the selection of skin care products to increase whitening Facilitation factors, access factors for skin care products And the reinforcing factors, the factors of receiving advice and support from various people .With a tool reliability of 0.804, and the difficulty using of Kuder–Richardson 20 : KR 20 was 0.764 then it was statistically analyzed by descriptive statistic such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum and Chi-square statistics with statistic significant of 0.05.
The results showed that The majority of the sample group were female, 85.00%, aged between 18 and 33 years, average age 20.50 ± 1.62 and were in the most 21 years of age or older. Most of the samples were students in the dental public health curriculum. 40.91 are 34.09% second year students and most of the expenses received from the family are 5,001-10,000 baht, 61.82%, Found that the prevalence of skin care products to brighten the skin up 46.36%. The factors related to the selection of skin care products to increase the whitening Statistical significance were gender (p-value = 0.02), age (p-value = <0.001), average monthly income (p-value = 0.03) and attitudes related to skincare products
(p-value = 0.036 )
