Caregiver’s Performance Practicing of Rehabilitation Health Care for Elderly Dependents at Phuket Province

Abstract

This analytic research study aimed to study either selected factors association or jointly factorpredicting, enabling factors, and reinforcing factors) effected to caregiver’s performance of rehabilitation health care for elderlydependentsatPhuket Province. Population in this study consisted of 219caregivers who have been training elderlycare program within 70 hours which be registered in Phuket Province,in fiscal year 2017, and the sample size calculating used Daniel formula for 140 cases, and systematic random sampling was determine for collecting data. Data collected by questionnaires composed of 7 parts including, characteristics, predisposing factors (knowledge, attitude, health perception), enabling factors, reinforcing factors, and performance of elderly dependentscare. In addition to check questionnaire standardization, validity was checked by 3 experts and try out testing reliability by Cronbach’s coefficient alpha about 0.87. Data analyzed using statistical as Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and Stepwise multiple regression analysis.An association analyzed found that, factor was associated with caregiver’s performance of rehabilitation health care for elderly dependents at Phuket Province,with statistic significantly at 0.05 level including, age group, knowledge of elderly’ exercising, attitude for elderly care, perceived of risk, training and consulting from health worker, respectively.Prediction model analyzed reported that factor effecting to caregiver’s performance of rehabilitation health care for elderly dependents at Phuket Province, including; age group (p-value=0.030), knowledge of elderly’ exercising (p-value<0.001), attitude for elderly care (p-value=0.002), perceived of risk (p-value=0.006), all predicting factors accounted for 21.8(R² =0.218).Thus, researcher should be modified program to develop care giver’ performance in Phuket Province.
