Innovation for developing social support network for aging society in Ban Sanuan Community, Huai Rat District, Buriram Province

Abstract

This was a Research and Development (R&D) project to develop the social support network for aging consisting of the sub-district health promotion hospital, public health volunteers, aging caregivers, and academic advisors by using health applications. The objectives of this research are 1) to develop the aging support network, and 2) to study the results of an aging society supporting network system. Quantitative and qualitative data collection was performed between June 2020 to June 2021. The research population was composed of three aging caregiver networks residing in Amphoe Huai Rat, Buriram Province in 2020, consisting of family caregivers, sub-district health promotion hospital staff, and public health volunteers. A total of 15 aging caregivers, 10 public health volunteers, and sub-district health promotion hospital nurses were selected as sample groups. Cronbach's alpha coefficient used surveys on Application Efficiency and Application Satisfaction as research tools. The results showed 0.96 and 0.92 accordingly. Descriptive statistical analysis was conducted by using frequency, percentage, median, and standard deviation. Qualitative analysis was conducted by content analysis. The result showed that the application efficiency was at a good level (M = 4.38, SD = 0.62) with the highest score on application speed (M = 4.55, SD = 0.54), application accuracy (M = 4.35, SD = 0.71), and service ability (M = 4.25, SD = 0.62), accordingly. Application satisfaction is at a high level (M = 4.26, SD = 0.68) with the highest score on application content (M = 4.46, SD = 0.57), vision, language, and sound (M = 4.40, SD = 0.73), respectively. It also showed that the content with the highest score was clarity and accuracy (M = 4.66, SD = 0.54).
