บทคัดย่อ
การทำฟันเทียมเป็นการฟื้นฟูการบดเคี้ยวของผู้ป่วยที่สูญเสียฟันธรรมชาติไปบางส่วนหรือทั้งหมดรายงานนี้นำเสนอกรณีศึกษาการทำฟันเทียมเดี่ยวบนร่วมกับฟันเทียมบางส่วนถอดได้คร่อมรากล่าง ในผู้ป่วยชายไทยอายุ 82 ปี ที่มีการสูญเสียฟันทั้งหมดในขากรรไกรบนและมีฟันสึกในขากรรไกรล่าง การรักษาประกอบด้วยการเตรียมช่องปาก การเตรียมฟันหลักยึดและการทำฟันเทียม โดยใช้หลักการของฟันเทียมคร่อมรากเพื่อช่วยคงสภาพของกระดูกสันเหงือก เพิ่มเสถียรภาพของฟันเทียมและลดปัญหาการยึดอยู่ของฟันเทียมถอดได้ การติดตามผลการรักษาพบว่าผู้ป่วยสามารถใช้งานได้ดี อย่างไรก็ตามมีความจำเป็นต้องติดตามผลการรักษาอย่างต่อเนื่องเพื่อป้องกันการสูญเสียฟันหลักยึดจากโรคปริทันต์และฟันผุ รวมถึงการเสริมฐานฟันเทียมเมื่อตรวจพบว่าฐานฟันเทียมไม่แนบกับเนื้อเยื่อ รายงานนี้เน้นย้ำถึงประโยชน์ของการทำฟันเทียมคร่อมรากในแง่ของการรักษาสภาพกระดูกสันเหงือกและการเพิ่มคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ป่วยสูงอายุ
