Effects of Using the ABCs Concept Video Teaching in Caring for Patients with Increased Intracranial Pressure on Self-confidence in Nursing Practice for Brain injury and Satisfaction of Nursing Student St Theresa International College.

Introduction: Increase intracranial pressure (IICP) is a complication of brain injury. Nursing students must have an understanding of mechanisms IICP. Therefore, able to provide effective nursing care to patients.
Research Objective: To compare the self-confidence in nursing practice in the surgical intensive care unit of 3rd year nursing students before and after we used ABCs video media in caring for patients with Increase intracranial pressure.
Research Methodology: A quasi-experimental research, two groups, before and after measurements. The sample consisted of 3rd year nursing students. The samples were selected by simple random sampling. Divided into the experimental group and the control group were 45 people each. Research instrument consisted of: 1. ABCs video media 2. Assessment questionnaire for self-confidence in the nursing practice 3. Satisfaction questionnaire. The content validity index of video media was .88, the questionnaire's self-confidence was .88 and .84, respectively. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and t-test.
Results: In this study the result show that the mean of self-confidence score in nursing practice after the experimental group was significantly higher than before the experiment (p<.05). When we used ABCs video media the mean of satisfaction score was significantly at a high level (p<.05).
Conclusion: The use of video ABCs in the care of patients with IICP. Helps to increase self-confidence in the nursing practice of brain injury patients.
Recommendation: The ABCs video media for the care of patients with IICP should be used in Prepare nursing students before practical training.
