QUALITY OF LIFE OF RUBBER FARMERSIN NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE

Abstract

This mixed methods research investigated quality of life of rubber farmers, problems and needs to enhance their quality of life. Three hundred and forty eight rubber farmers were random to join in. Data acquisition by using questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Descriptive statistic such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and rang were used to analyze quantitative data. Moreover, content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data.

          The results of this study showed perspective quality of life was in the moderate range (= 3.42, S.D. = 0.36). The rubber farmers reported quality of life at moderate range because they had accident at work, myalgia, did not exercise and break during work. The unstable price and do not hit the expectations were made them stress. The rubber farmers needed the policy to insurance the rubber price and welfare fund. In addition, to reduce production, annual health checking and chemicals blood testing and stress and stress management strategy are needed.
