การศึกษาภาวะซึมเศร้าของผู้สูงอายุไทยในจังหวัดชัยนาท

การศึกษานี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุไทย กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ ผู้สูงอายุที่อาศัยอยู่ในจังหวัดชัยนาท ทั้งเพศชายและเพศหญิง สามารถสื่อสารด้วยภาษาไทยได้และให้ข้อมูลได้ด้วยตนเอง ได้มาจากการคัดเลือกโดยการสุ่มแบบหลายขั้นตอน และกำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยใช้สูตรคำนวณของคอแครน ระดับความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ 95% ได้กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 384 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบวัดภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุไทย ทดสอบความเชื่อมั่นด้วยค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สัมพันธ์อัลฟ่าครอนบาค เท่ากับ 0.72 สถิติที่ใช้คือ ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ และการวิเคราะห์เชิงถดถอย
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ค่าเฉลี่ยของภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุไทยอยู่ในระดับเล็กน้อย ร้อยละ 23.66 รองลงมาคือ ภาวะซึมเศร้าระดับปานกลาง และระดับรุนแรง ร้อยละ 2.13 และ 1.56 ตามลำดับ และพบว่า เพศ (OR=3.02, 95%CI=1.46-6.34, p= .001) ความเพียงพอของรายได้ (OR=1.01,95% CI=0.87-1.04, p= .002) และสัมพันธภาพในครอบครัว (OR=3.58, 95% CI= 1.67-6.68, p< .001) เป็นปัจจัยที่มีผลกับภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุไทยในจังหวัดชัยนาทอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ สรุปและข้อเสนอแนะจากผลจากการศึกษาครั้งนี้ บุคลากรสาธารณสุขสามารถนำข้อมูลไปใช้ในการติดตามดูแลรักษาส่งเสริมและป้องกันการเกิดภาวะซึมเศร้าในผู้สูงอายุไทยในชุมชนต่อไป
