ตำรับยาสมุนไพรสำหรับอาการตกขาว: กรณีศึกษาหมอพื้นบ้านภาคใต้ “หมอเสทือน หอมเกตุ”

บทคัดย่อ
ปัจจุบันมีการดูแลสุขภาพที่หลากหลาย นอกจากการแพทย์แผนปัจจุบัน การแพทย์แผนจีนแล้ว ยังมีคนไทยอีกจำนวนไม่น้อยที่เลือกใช้การรักษาแบบพื้นบ้าน ส่วนใหญ่แล้วจะยึดเหตุผล คือ สะดวก ประหยัดและได้ผล โดยมีหมอพื้นบ้านเป็นผู้ให้การดูแลสุขภาพของประชาชนตลอดมา จึงเป็นที่มาของงานวิจัยที่มุ่งจะรวบรวมการใช้ตำรับยาสมุนไพร เพื่อเป็นฐานข้อมูลในการพัฒนาหมอพื้นบ้านให้เกิดประโยชน์กับสังคมมากที่สุด อีกทั้งเป็นข้อมูลในการวางแผนการดูแลสุขภาพต่อไป โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาข้อมูลทั่วไป บทบาทของหมอพื้นบ้าน อาการเจ็บป่วยและวิธีการรักษาของหมอพื้นบ้านในอำเภอทุ่งสง จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช จัดเป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ คัดเลือกหมอเฉพาะเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือแบบสัมภาษณ์ โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากหมอพื้นบ้านที่ยังคงให้การรักษาอยู่ในปัจจุบัน ผลการศึกษาพบว่าหมอเสทือน หอมเกตุ อายุ 73 ปี มีความเชี่ยวชาญในการรักษาโรคสตรีมาเป็นเวลานาน โดยเฉพาะอาการตกขาว ใช้ตำรับยาสมุนไพร 1 ตำรับ ในการรักษา ประกอบด้วยสมุนไพร 15 ชนิด คือ กระชาย แห้วหมู พญาปล้องทอง หูกวาง พระขรรค์ไชยศรี เร็ดหนู รางแดง หมากหมก ทุ้งฟ้า กำลังควายถึก กำแพงเจ็ดชั้น ปลาไหลเผือก หมากผู้ โสมไทย และบ่าวม้ามืด สรรพคุณสมุนไพรในตำรับยาที่หมอใช้โดยภาพรวมมีประสิทธิภาพในการรักษาอาการตกขาวได้ จึงเป็นอีกทางเลือกหนึ่งในการรักษา ทั้งนี้ควรต้องมีการศึกษาทางคลินิกในอนาคตต่อไป
