ผลเบื้องต้นของยาแคปซูลประสะไพลเพื่อรักษาอาการประจำเดือนผิดปกติ

บทคัดย่อ
ประสะไพลเป็นตำรับยาไทยแผนโบราณในบัญชียาหลักแห่งชาติที่ใช้รักษาภาวะประจำเดือนผิดปกติ แต่ปัจจุบันยังมีข้อมูลการศึกษาทางคลินิกที่น้อยที่ยืนยันประสิทธิผลของยาตำรับนี้ในข้อบ่งใช้ดังกล่าว การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อติดตามผลของยาประสะไพลในการรักษาอาการประจำเดือนผิดปกติในหญิงที่มาซื้อยาประสะไพลเพื่อรักษาอาการดังกล่าว ณ ร้านยามหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามประเมินอาการและอาการแสดงทางคลินิกก่อนและหลังใช้ยาประสะไพล 1 สัปดาห์, 4 สัปดาห์ (รอบเดือนที่ 1) และ 9 สัปดาห์ (รอบเดือนที่ 2) ในหญิงจำนวน 24 คน อายุเฉลี่ย 23.9 ± 1.3 ปี ทั้งหมดใช้ยาแคปซูลประสะไพล (ประสะไพลสกัด ขนาด 250 มิลลิกรัม/แคปซูล) 1 หรือ 2 แคปซูล วันละ 3 ครั้ง ก่อนอาหาร ผู้เข้าร่วมวิจัยส่วนใหญ่มีอาการประจำเดือนเว้นช่วงห่างจำนวน 17 คน (ร้อยละ 70) หลังใช้ยาพบว่าอาการดังกล่าวหายเป็นปกติจำนวน 7 คน และเพิ่มเป็น 12 คน ในรอบเดือนที่ 1 และ 2 ตามลำดับ โดยไม่พบอาการไม่พึงประสงค์จากยา โดยสรุปการศึกษานี้บ่งชี้ว่ายาประสะไพลมีประสิทธิผลและความปลอดภัยในการรักษาอาการประจำเดือนมาผิดปกติ อย่างไรก็ตาม ควรมีการศึกษาทางคลินิกแบบสุ่มและมีกลุ่มควบคุมเพิ่มเติมเพื่อยืนยันประสิทธิผลและความปลอดภัยของยาประสะไพลในข้อบ่งใช้นี้
